Official Season:
Are the hiking and climbing activities to be done between November 15 th . and March 15 th . of the next year (See Rates Bellow).

All the hiking and climbing activities done in the Off Season are under the unique responsibility of the climbers, guides and Tourist Companies, including all the cost eventually demanded for searching, rescue or evacuation of a climber. Only one ranger remains at the Horcones Refuge (Park Entrance) in the Off Season Time, who keeps a visitors registration, provide information and controls the garbage left by the visitors to the park.

This Ranger is on duty while weather conditions allow, so the Natural Resources Department authorizes to interrupt the service for safety reasons if necessary.

The most important service provided in the Official Season will be a permanent rescue helicopter. During this period a preventive post is also planned to be in "Nido de Cóndores" Camp, with Two Park Rangers and an hyperbaric chamber, to treat eventual lung edemas.

New medical equipment will be purchased, and the construction of more bathrooms and a Visitors Center in the " Horcones" Area are planned.
